Day 3 (November 8, 2025): A Resort Kind of Day

It was a pretty low-key day for us today, but one that was highly enjoyable and relaxing. We just stayed at the resort all day. Pam slept until about 7:30 AM, which she desperately needed. After breakfast, we walked to the north end of the resort, to a hidden beach that we didn’t realize was even there. We decided to spend half our day there and enjoyed lots of water time. While we could see spectacular rain storms in the distance over the capital, St. George's, we just had one very short rain shower, which was over in a couple of minutes.

The resort has an all-you-can-drink coffee shop with nice desserts and small sandwiches, so that’s where we had lunch. After that, we went to the beach closest to our room and spent the rest of the day there, including a nice walk to the south end of the beach. 

It’s really difficult to get a reservation at one of the resort’s three top restaurants (Italian, French and Indian), especially since the resort is sold out right now. So we had to have dinner tonight at the main buffet restaurant - which was still quite nice. There was no entertainment at the resort tonight, so we just called it an early evening. 

We are heading to the airport, which is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel, tomorrow morning to pick up our rental car at 9 AM and we’ll spend the day driving around the island.

Day 4 (November 9, 2025): A Drive Around Grenada

This was the day we had planned to tour the island via rental car. We walked over to the airport at 9AM (it’s just a 10 minute walk). Two very friendly agents at Ace Rent-A-Car gave us lots of good tips about seeing the island and arranged our Grenada drivers license very quickly ($25 USD).  At 9:30 AM, we pulled out from the airport and started what would prove to be an interesting but really difficult day of driving.  We have driven in some pretty risky and crazy places around the world, and we often talk about some of those drives. Days 1-2 (November 6-7, 2025): The Trip to Grenada + Settling In At Last!

On our way to the airport Thursday afternoon, we looked up 'yellow fever entrance requirements' for Grenada. And because we were transferring through Trinidad, which is a yellow fever zone, it looked like Grenada would not let us enter without our yellow fever certificates. So we turned around, went home, and tore the house apart, but couldn’t find them. Off we headed again, empty-handed, and quite concerned. As we boarded our Porter flight to Toronto, we were quite stressed about what the implications of that would be: would we be denied entry to Grenada upon arrival? Once seated on the Porter flight, I checked my email only to see that Caribbean Airlines had written to say our flight from Toronto to Trinidad was canceled! Long story made a short as possible, we spent the entire flight to Toronto trying to find new tickets.
