Day 5 (November 10, 2025): Grand Anse Beach

Since we had to return the rental car at 9 AM, and because we were too exhausted yesterday to have done these last couple of things at the end of our trip around the island, we decided to get up this morning at 6:30 AM and to drive to the island’s most celebrated and beautiful beach: Grande Anse, located just 10 minutes from the hotel. It is normally a pretty busy place, from what we have heard, but we had most of the beach to ourselves so early on a Monday. We did a 2.25 km walk, followed by a swim in the crystal clear water. St. George's, the capital, could easily be seen in the distance, and a cruise ship was just coming into port during our walk.

From there we drove to Morne Rouge, which is a beautiful beach in a secluded bay just south of Grand Anse. The hillside around the cove is filled with millionaire homes, so we weren’t actually able to get down to the beach, as every narrow street down to beach level was marked 'private'. But it was still a beautiful vista.

From there, we made it back to the hotel and spent the day on the beach and in the water, just relaxing.

My favourite sunset pictures of the trip are included below.

Our dinner at the hotel’s Indian restaurant was cancelled because they closed that restaurant today at the last minute. We did have a lovely dinner at the Italian restaurant on the cliff. Another great day.

Spectacular Grand Anse Beach is 3KM long.  Located just south of the capital, St. George's, and a ten-minute drive north of the resort where we are staying.

Morne Rouge Beach is protected by luxurious homes which restrict access to the beach with their 'private' lanes down to beach-level.

The end of another perfect day in paradise.
